Gas conference Paris 2007
11, 12 and 13 September 2007

The 2007 edition of the Paris Gas conference is launched!
Please find, on www.congresdugaz.fr/uk/, the programme of this three-day conference which includes 7 round tables and 15 workshops and covers the whole gas industry.

The first day, Tuesday 11/09/07 will be devoted to gas applications and market issues, with a dedicated round table on “Market opening and consumers benefits”. This round table will specifically address the consequences of the eligibility of domestic customers, final measure to be implemented to achieve market opening. Olivier Appert, Chairman of IFP, Michele Pappalardo, Chairperson of the French environment and energy management agency and Bertrand Collomb, CEO of Lafarge, will weigh in during this day.

On the second day, Wednesday 12/09/07, we will look at the strategies currently emerging in the gas sector as well as sustainable development issues. The main topics will deal with security of supply, gas R&D challenges and European policy. Jean-François Cirelli, CEO of Gaz de France, Pierre Gadonneix, CEO of EDF, Philippe Boisseau, Gas and electricity Managing Director of Total, and the new French Minister for Energy will be the keynote speakers of this day.

Thursday 13/09/07 will focus on gas infrastructures and their development. The morning session will start with an exceptional speech from Gerhard Schröder, former chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and current chairman of the Shareholders’ Committee of Nord Stream AG. Challenges faced by the gas service area and the idea of a common regulator in Europe will be also discussed.

Besides, this new edition innovates! The EFG (European Forum gas) will be organised in addition to the Expogaz, traditionally held at the same time as the Conference. The EFG will take place on the 12th and 13th of September (www.efg2007.com). Innovation continues with online registrations and payments that are now possible on the Conference website and that in full safety. Registrations and on line payments made before May 31st will get special fares.

The gas Conference is organized by the French Gas Association, which is in charge of the promotion of the gas industry. The mission of the Association is to seek all the suitable means to support the development of the whole gas chain in France . It also acts as a representative body to public authorities on all the issues impacting the French gas sector such as technique, security and environment.
