Carole Le Gall joined ENGIE in 2015 as Strategic Marketing and Innovation Director at ENGIE Cofely before becoming CEO of the Business Unit France Networks in May 2018. Her ambition is to make ENGIE France Networks the best partner in the energy revolution for French local communities – both cities and overseas – through the development of 3D’s – Decarbonized, Decentralized and more Digital – infrastructures and services. In both the public and private sectors in France, her career has been driven by the management of activities to make cities better to live.
Before joining ENGIE, she served for some six years as CEO of the CSTB, the Scientific and Technical Center for Building. From 2007 to 2012, she also co-chaired the Strategic Advisory Group on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of.the International Standard Organization (ISO)
From 2006 to 2008, she was Operational Director for Energy, Air and Noise at ADEME, the French Agency for Environment and Energy Management. She was managing a team of more than 120 experts and supervising the ADEME activities in research, expertise, communication and project funding.
She also gained her solid experience on local authorities governance and operating modes, working at Nantes Metropole (urban community of Nantes) from 2001 to 2006 as Deputy General Manager. She was in charge of economic development, research, high level education and metropolitan international influence.
She also occupied several national and local positions at the French Ministry of industry.
Knight of the French National Order of Merit, Carole Le Gall served in the rank of General in the French Civil servant Corps des Mines and is also MIT alumna: Master of Science Civil and Environmental engineering of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
